Saturday - March 16, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. - Channel 19 03/04/02: Chicago Magic invites all Magic Families to take part in a presentation by AthletiCo on Sunday, March 10 at 5:15 PM at the Hyatt Lisle. The Hyatt is located at 1400 Corporetum Drive in Lisle, immediately off of I-88 (East-West Tollway) at Route 53. AthletiCo will be presenting an overview of the services that they have to offer our club, as well as a free player screening. 03/04/02: Chicago Magic coaches and individual players will be heard on a regular basis on the new radio show -- The Apple Chevrolet Prep Report Show every Saturday morning from 9:30 am until 12:00 noon on WCFJ - AM 1470 from Chicago Heights, IL -- beginning in mid-March. The show is hosted by veteran south side sports guy Tim "The Big Guy" Maher. amd Parade Magazine first team All American CJ Klaas will join
the US Men's U-20 National team in mid-March for a 13-day trip of
competition in Mexico.

The Fall 2001 Best of the Midwest video is now
available. It (the 50-minute video) has been aired exhaustively
throughout the local AT&T Network system in Chicago. For example, it
has been aired every other day for the past three weeks in Orland Park and
New Lenox. 1/28/02: Joe Ducci Named to Powerade McDonald's All American Game which will feature the top graduating high school soccer players in the country in East v. West matches for both boys and girls. The '87 National Team will be holding training sessions and playing games against some of the top Mexican teams. They are scheduled to play Atlas, Tecos, and Rio Grande. 1/17/02: Colin Kirk, Pat Sperry, and Peter Remedi will be joining the '86 Regional team in San Jose, Costa Rica from January 28, 2002 through February 3, 2002 in the '86 Boys ODP International Festival. This tournament will consist of 16 teams, the 4 US Regional Teams and 12 International Teams. 1/16/02: The Indoor Session II Rosters and Schedules have been revised. 01/12/02: The Chicago Magic U14 team has been accepted into the prestigious Nike Premier Cup Tournament. The Nike Premier Cup is an international soccer tournament for U14 boys and U14 girls teams. This tournament will be held June 7-9, 2002 in Beaverton, Oregon, home of the Nike World Headquarters. The winner of this 16 team tournament will advance to the World Finals to be held July 12-20, 2002 in Lisbon Portugal.

Former Chicago Magic star and two-time collegiate
All-American Eric Lukin is currently playing professionally in the Croatian
First Division for the Pomorac FC. The team which was elevated to the first
division this season signed Lukin (Orland Park, IL) and he is starting at left
back for Coach Pedrag Stalinovich in the town of Kostrena. Pomorac squad is
presently at the middle of the 16-team table as former CMSC star returned to

Peter (5' 9", 173 lbs) is a sophomore placekicker and was the team's leading scorer for the Big Ten champions. His 65 points came from 12/13 FGs and 29/29 PAT for the season. Peter played with the Magic years before turning to the grid-iron with the University of Illinois. 01/01/02: Magic to announce formation of new initiative with Magic/Sockers Academy Program beginning this January of 2002 1/1/02: Coach Matkovich will be in Las Vegas from Jan 2, 2002 through Jan 10, 2002. He will be providing instruction and training to coaches from across the country at the U.S. Soccer National Coaching Schools. |
